- INSTALLING Win$ 1.3:

- A:Win$ [ or B:Win$ ]

-
- You can also double-click the name win$.exe in a list of
- files of the File Manager when displaying the contents
- of the corresponding floppy disk.

-
- If the automatic installation fails by any reason,
- you can install Win$ manually:
- ------------------------------
- 1) Create a directory on your hard disk for Win$.
-
- 2) Copy the following files from the diskette into that directory:
-
- win$.exe
- win$.hlp
-
- 3) Copy the file ctl3d.dll from the diskette into the SYSTEM
- directory of Windows (usually it is C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM).
- See also the note about ctl3d.dll below.
-
- Note about using ctl3d.dll library.
- ----------------------------------
- The file ctl3d.dll is not neccesary for running Win$.exe. When started,
- Win$ searches for this file in its sturtup directory, in the SYSTEM
- directory, and in the WINDOWS directory, in this order. If Win$ finds
- this file, it uses it. Otherwize, Win$ works without the use of ctl3d.dll.
-
- Unavalability of ctl3d.dll does not influence the performance of the Win$
- software. ctl3d.dll is used only when forming the appearance of the
- program on the screen.
